Administrative Assistant – Payroll Services

The Role

 

The role of Administrative Assistant belongs to the Payroll Services team in the People and Culture directorate. We have 5 office campuses across the state and this role will be based at our Newman Siena Centre in Doubleview. This role is an ongoing role, offering 5 days per week, 6 hours per day.

 

As an Administrative Assistant in the Payroll team, you will contribute to and support the work of the Payroll Services team to ensure channels of communication are effective within the team and across other teams in the Catholic Education Office and Schools.

 

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Managing and distributing incoming phone calls
  • Sorting, distributing and filing incoming emails
  • Issuing statements of service
  • Calculating salary increments for schools as required
  • Completing Centrelink requests
  • Completing payment requisitions to go to Finance
  • Stationery ordering
  • Undertaking other duties as required by the Payroll Services Team Leader

Selection Criteria

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment for delivering exceptional customer service and be prepared to go the extra mile.
  • High level of computer literacy particularly in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to develop new skills in the use of other computer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, use of initiative
  • A proven capacity to organise and prioritise workloads.
