School Community Consultant (50D) (Broome) Aboriginal Education Team Teaching and Learning Directorate
The Team The Aboriginal Education Team strives to ensure Aboriginal students have equitable access and participation in the Catholic schooling process, and every opportunity to achieve educational outcomes equal to that of their non-Aboriginal peers. With almost 2,400 Aboriginal students and more than 100 Aboriginal Teacher Assistants across WA Catholic schools, Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) is committed to supporting schools to be culturally responsive and inclusive learning environments for all.
The Role
This role provides leadership and support to Aboriginal Teaching Assistants, Aboriginal Liaison Officers, Transforming Lives Engagement Officers – Kimberley, as well as working collaboratively with schools and Aboriginal communities to build authentic partnerships in the Broome Diocese.
Aboriginality is a specification for this position in accordance with Section 50(d), Equal Employment Opportunity Act 1984.
This is a full-time 5 year maximum term position commencing as soon as possible and concluding 31 December 2025.
Applications are encouraged from existing CEWA school employees wishing to explore the option of a period of leave from their present position. A minimum two year contract period would be considered.
