The Role
The role of Catering Officer belongs to the Property team in the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital Technology directorate. We have 5 office campuses across the state and this role will be based at our West Leederville office.
This is a part-time 0.8FTE (Monday – Thursday) position commencing Monday 11 May 2026 and concluding 30 September 2026.
The Catering Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the kitchen, staff room and catering events including, but not limited to:
- Prepares and produces high quality nutritionally balanced meals.
- Supervises and oversees daily work of catering assistants.
- Plans weekly menus and rosters as required for events and Professional Development as requested by teams.
- Monitors the quality of food and service and ensures a high level of hygiene measures are practices.
- Ensure the health and safety regulations and food hygiene practices are strictly observed, recorded and archived.
- Maintains a clean and tidy workspace.
- Provides a high-quality service to staff and guests.
- Maintains the budget, inventory of the kitchen, equipment and associated records.
- Ensures kitchen equipment is in working order and reports any faults or issues to the Team Leader Property.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties.
- Vast experience working in a commercial or boutique catering environment.
- Experience managing a commercial kitchen.
- Experience supervising catering assistants.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and requests.
- A can-do attitude with hands on approach to preparing food.
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, think fast and multitask.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team or independently.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office 365.
Desirable:
- Holds a Senior First Aid Certificate or is prepared to complete a course to attain the qualification.
- Qualified Chef or Hospitality Catering graduate from a recognized catering institution.
