Graduate Product Engineer

We're seeking a Graduate Product Engineer to join our Application Development Team within the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital Technology Directorate.

This is a unique opportunity for a recent graduate to develop skills across software engineering, data engineering and test automation while contributing to digital solutions that support schools, staff and students across Western Australia. Working alongside experienced engineers and business stakeholders, you will help deliver innovative products while receiving structured mentoring and professional development.

About the Role

Working within the Application Development Team, you will contribute to the design, development, testing and continuous improvement of digital products that support CEWA's strategic priorities. You'll collaborate with technical specialists and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while building your capability across modern software, data and AI technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of software and data products
• Support the delivery of human-centred digital solutions that improve user experiences
• Develop foundational skills across software engineering, data engineering and test automation
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver valuable outcomes
• Assist in maintaining secure, reliable and well-documented solutions
• Explore and apply emerging AI capabilities within product development practices

About You

You are a recent technology graduate who is passionate about solving problems, learning new technologies and making a meaningful contribution through digital innovation. You enjoy working collaboratively, are eager to learn from experienced professionals, and are excited by the opportunity to develop skills across software, data and AI disciplines.

Essential requirements:

• Recently graduated in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong programming skills and a solid technical foundation
• Knowledge of relational databases, data analytics and SQL
• Understanding of human-centred design principles and user-focused technology solutions
• Interest in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
• Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of your duties

Highly regarded:

• Experience in software, data engineering or test automation environments
• Exposure to Microsoft technologies, Power BI or data platforms
• Interest in AI or machine learning product development
