The Role
The role of Head of Project Delivery belongs to the Digital Technology team in the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital Technology directorate. We have 5 office campuses across the state and this role will be based at our West Leederville office.
This is a fixed term, full-time position commencing in June 2026 and concluding in June 2031.
As the Head of Project Delivery, you will be responsible for driving project management excellence, ensuring initiatives align with CEWA's strategic vision and delivering impactful outcomes for our schools and offices.
The primary accountabilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Project Delivery Team Development and Leadership
- Lead and nurture a diverse team of project specialists (e.g., project managers, business analysts, change managers, project coordinators, testers), providing guidance, training, and support to ensure consistent success through project execution.
- Champion and continuously improve the project delivery framework, regularly reviewing processes, tools, and methodologies for effective project management.
- Cultivate a culture of project management excellence within CEWA, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Project Delivery
- Partner with CEWA leadership to identify and prioritise strategic initiatives.
- Oversee development and management of project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for key initiatives.
- Oversee project execution, monitor progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful completion.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, maintaining clear communication and alignment throughout project lifecycles.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Utilise project management tools and reporting systems to collect and analyse data on project performance, resource utilisation, and key metrics.
- Ensure data-driven decision-making, optimise resource allocation, and improve project delivery processes.
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure adherence to relevant policies, regulations, and financial guidelines within the PMO and across projects.
- Develop and implement risk management plans to mitigate potential risks and ensure project success.
- Provide regular verbal and written updates to the CIO, the Executive and CEWA Committees.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends related to project management.
- Proactively identify areas for process improvement and recommend strategies to enhance the PMO.

Selection Criteria
A. ESSENTIAL:
1. Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in leading and managing teams responsible for delivery of complex projects in an educational or similar setting.
3. Significant project management experience within IT.
4. Proven track record of establishing and implementing PMO frameworks and methodologies.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
6. Proven ability to lead project teams and foster a collaborative team environment.
7. Excellent interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to build, maintain positive relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Effective in managing expectations and resolving conflicts within the project environment.
8. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to convey complex project information in a clear and concise manner. Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
9. Experience managing software testing, quality assurance, and test automation teams.
10. Experience managing business analyst, change manager, and project management teams.
B. HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
1. Advanced degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field, preferred.
2. Project Management qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, ITIL or other relevant industry certifications.
3. Change Management qualifications such as Prosci ADKAR or other relevant industry certifications and practical experience applying them in diverse organisational contexts.
4. Enterprise Architecture qualifications such as TOGAF to align digital technology with business strategy.
5. Commercial and contract negotiation experience.
