Established in 1925 by the Sisters of St Joseph, Kearnan College is a nurturing co-educational Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 Catholic community. With an enrolment of 316 students, the College services the towns and surrounding areas of Manjimup, Bridgetown, Pemberton, Northcliffe, Greenbushes, Nannup and Boyup Brook.


The College highly values its PK-12 structure where secondary students embrace opportunities to mentor younger students in a variety of ways. Our College motto ‘Seek Truth’ encourages students and staff to live according to Gospel values in daily witness.


Kearnan College implements a whole school approach for improving each student’s literacy and numeracy progress. In the Senior School, a broad curriculum exists that allows students to aspire to university entrance or the completion of TAFE certificates. A wide range of extra-curricular activities such as retreat, wellness, sport, academic competitions, camps and student leadership experiences, highlight the pastoral and educational programs offered. The College is proud of its professional staff who give enormous hours of time to both the formal and informal curriculum in their dedication to recognise the gifts and talents of every individual, and inspire them to reach their full potential.


In recent years a building program has seen the completion of a Library, Design & Technology Centre and 900m2 courts covered by a roof. Major refurbishment to the Science laboratories has been made and maintenance to the Middle School Block, staff room and general secondary classrooms has improved learning environments. The College has recently upgraded its technology facilities and secondary students enjoy a 1:1 device using the Microsoft 365 platform. A current Capital Development Plan to upgrade the Early Childhood, Year One and Two classrooms, grounds and sport storage areas has been submitted to CEWA for future improvement in 2023.


St Joseph’s Parish, Manjimup, and Kearnan College work in partnership particularly in terms of the Sacramental preparation of the students. The College has a very active P&F and College Advisory Council who ensure additional resources and up-to-date facilities are available for staff and students to allow a quality education to be provided.

  • ensures that the dignity, safety and wellbeing of students is the highest priority and that the voice of the child is heard in all undertakings
  • deepens the College's identity, vision and mission to further enhance the connection with the parish and wider community
  • creates a culture of regular and effective feedback and self-reflection, empowering staff to develop leadership skills and the capacity of staff and students

To be considered for this outstanding leadership opportunity, potential candidates must be practising Catholics and experienced educators committed to the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.

You must have:

  • A minimum four year tertiary qualification although it would be advantageous to demonstrate significant progress towards a Masters degree or higher
  • Accreditation for Leadership of a Catholic School Community or its equivalent
  • Current TRBWA and Working with Children requirements
