We are currently seeking 2 fixed-term, full-time Payroll Offers to join our team commencing ASAP and concluding 31 December 2026

 

The Role

The role of Payroll Officer belongs to the Payroll Services team in the People and Culture directorate. We have 5 office campuses across the state and this role will be based at our Newman Siena Centre.

As a Payroll Officer, you will process the pays and maintain staff records for employees in Catholic Schools in Western Australia.

 

The primary accountabilities for this role include but are not limited to:

 

  • Provide an end-to-end payroll service for Catholic Schools that use the Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) payroll service.
  • Maintain staff records for Catholic schools that do not use the CEWA payroll service.
  • Respond to phone and email queries regarding MyHR (the online payroll and HR system).
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of Ascender Pay.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the remuneration and leave provisions as they relate to staff in Catholic Schools in Western Australia.
  • Other duties as requested by the Team Leader, Payroll Services.

Selection Criteria

A. ESSENTIAL:

1. Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties.

2. Knowledge and skills in payroll processing or accounting.

3. Demonstrated effectiveness working within a service delivery environment.

4. Strong numeracy and analytical skills and attention to detail.

5. High-level communicator (both verbal and written) with experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

6. Demonstrated ability to contribute proactively and positively to work as part of a team.
