The Executive Director of Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) invites applications for the Principalship role at Holy Cross College based in Ellenbrook commencing 1 January 2026.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities of the Principal, the community seeks a principal who can demonstrate practical skills and experience in:

  • Deepens the integration of faith across curriculum and culture, embedding Catholic social teaching and Gospel values in decision-making and school culture.
  • Nurtures an active faith community, enhancing student and staff engagement in the spiritual life of the school and fostering a sense of purpose and service through faith-based action.

 

Education

  • Demonstrate capacity to foster high-quality teaching that recognises diverse student needs—including students with disabilities, vocational educational and ATAR aspirants—through research-based contemporary pedagogies, differentiated instruction, innovative technology integration, and meaningful real-world learning opportunities that help every student reach their full potential.
  • Commits to embedding Catholic values throughout the curriculum, supporting teacher wellbeing, ensuring authentic Religious Education, and building faith-based community partnerships and diverse learning pathways.

 

Community

  • Fosters a welcoming, faith-filled environment that respects diverse cultures and backgrounds, engages meaningfully with families, strengthens connections with the parish and wider community, promotes student voice, and maintains proactive, transparent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Commits to nurturing authentic spiritual growth while honouring human dignity across all cultures and identities, developing strong connections with St Helena of the Holy Cross parish, fostering relationships with local First Nations organisations, engaging community stakeholders, and sharing school successes to attract new families.

 

Stewardship

  • Ensures sustainable growth through Christ-centred, ethical decision-making, balancing enrolment demands with mission integrity, effective financial management, and strategic investment in facilities and digital infrastructure. Collaborates with the School Advisory Council to provide safe, high-quality learning environments.
  • Commits to developing the professional capacity of staff through mentorship, modelling a culture of self-reflection, maintaining a visible presence, providing meaningful professional learning and faith formation opportunities, and empowering leadership capacity in both teachers and students, ensuring all decisions remain Christ-centred and child-focused.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Practising Catholic and experienced educator committed to Catholic Education.
  • Accreditation for Leadership of a Catholic School Community or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in Catholic schools, preferably with leadership experience in a K-12 environment.
  • Developed understanding of governance, finance, issue resolution and compliance practices.
  • A collaborative and future-focused leader who understands and supports the strategic priorities of the broader Catholic Education system. 
  • A relevant Master’s degree (or working towards completion) with the ability to apply advanced leadership and management principles to both the day-to-day and long-term leadership of a school is highly desirable.
  • Current Teachers Registration for Western Australia (TRBWA).
  • Current WA Working with Children Check (WA WWCC).
