The Executive Director of Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) invites applications for the Principalship role at Our Lady of Mercy Primary School based in Girrawheen commencing 1 January 2026.

- Provides leadership that animates the school’s Mercy charism and values while aligning its vision, mission and educational objectives with the evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.
- Promotes the Catholic identity of the school while respecting its multi-faith nature, fostering Catholic rituals and practices that invite students, staff and families into deeper relationship with Christ.
Education
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of contemporary curriculum development, educational best practices, and student-centred learning approaches, underpinned by the strategic use of student learning data to inform planning, monitor progress and personalise instruction.
- Leads staff in fostering inclusive and adaptable learning environments that ensure high-quality learning experiences across all stages of schooling, cultivating a shared sense of responsibility among staff for the growth and success of every student, each of whom is valued for their capacity to learn and fulfill their God-given potential.
Community
- Fosters an environment where students and families feel valued, respected and supported, with proven capacity to develop and implement initiatives that promote inclusivity, positive engagement and equitable access to education for all.
- Demonstrates approachability, empathy and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional pastoral care, prioritising the dignity, safety and well-being of all members of the school community.
Stewardship
- Supports and fosters the faith formation and professional development of staff through consistent, constructive feedback, prioritising wellbeing and the creation of opportunities for ongoing growth and engagement.
- Leads with intent and works collaboratively with the school, system and community members to plan, manage and sustain finances and facilities that effectively meet both current and future needs.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Practising Catholic and experienced educator committed to Catholic Education.
- Accredited for Leadership of a Catholic School Community or equivalent.
- A collaborative and future-focused leader who understands and supports the strategic priorities of the broader Catholic Education system.
- A relevant Master’s degree (or working towards completion) with the ability to apply advanced leadership and management principles to both the day-to-day and long-term leadership of a school is highly desirable.
- Current Teachers Registration for Western Australia (TRBWA).
- Current WA Working with Children Check (WA WWCC).
