Principalship at St Joseph’s School, Boulder

The Executive Director of Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) invites applications for the Principalship role at St Joseph’s School based in Boulder commencing 1 January 2027 (or negotiable with the Executive Director).

School Profile

St Joseph's School, Boulder is a welcoming, faith-filled Catholic primary school catering for students from Three-Year-Old Pre-Kindergarten to Year Six. Located in the heart of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, approximately 600 kilometres east of Perth, the school is recognised for its warm, intimate and friendly environment, where every child is known, valued and supported to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Established in 1898 by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart, St Joseph's has proudly served generations of families across the Goldfields for more than 125 years. As an integral part of the Goldfields Catholic Community, the school enjoys a strong partnership with All Hallows Parish and remains deeply connected to its Josephite heritage. Inspired by the charism of Saint Mary MacKillop and her call to "Never see a need without doing something about it," the school fosters a culture of faith in action, service, compassion and belonging.

Guided by its values of Faith, Kindness and Respect, St Joseph's is committed to nurturing the unique gifts and potential of every student. As a single-stream school, it offers the advantages of a close-knit community where staff know students and families well, enabling strong pastoral care and genuine partnerships that support student wellbeing and success. The school embraces the belief that parents are a child's first educators and works collaboratively with families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Teaching and learning at St Joseph's are characterised by high expectations, contemporary practice and a commitment to continuous improvement. Through engaging, inquiry-based learning, the purposeful integration of technology and a diverse curriculum, students are encouraged to develop curiosity, confidence and a love of lifelong learning. Specialist programs in AUSLAN, Health, Visual Arts, Science and Physical Education are complemented by targeted intervention and extension opportunities, including literacy support, gifted and talented programs, coding and enrichment activities that cater for a broad range of learning needs and interests.

Rich in history and grounded in authentic relationships, St Joseph's continues to build a vibrant school culture that celebrates diversity, values excellence and strives to achieve outstanding educational and social-emotional outcomes for every student.
