The Role

The role of Purchasing Specialist belongs to the Procurement and Contracts team in the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital Technology directorate. We have 5 office campuses across the state, and this role will be based at our West Leederville office.

 

This is a full-time ongoing position commencing as soon as possible.

 

The Purchasing Specialist will assist the Team Leader Procurement and Contracts in providing advice and support to Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) regarding purchasing and general procurement requirements including supplier onboarding and management.

 

The Primary accountabilities of this role include but and not limited to:

 

  • Purchasing
  • Vendor Management  
  • Record Management
  • Procurement, Tenders and Contract Management
  • Policies, Procedures and Templates

Selection Criteria

 

A. ESSENTIAL:

 

1. Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties.

2. Demonstrated high level communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

3. Ability to apply effective problem solving, analytical and negotiating skills within the scope of responsibilities.

4. Sound numerical skills and attention to detail.

5. Ability to prioritise, control workload and meet deadlines.

6. Ability to work as part of a team with or without supervision.

7. Sound computer literacy skills in a Microsoft office / Windows environment.

 

 

B. HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

 

1. Demonstrated experience in a corporate procurement environment.

2. Experience in Purchasing, administration and Procure to Pay activities.

3. Experience in Vendor Management activities.

4. Knowledge and understanding of computerised accounting systems including the Procure to Pay activities (sourcing / requisition / accounts payable).

5. Ability to assist in the identification and development of recommendations to improve procurement outcomes.
