For more than 150 years, Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) has supported schools and communities across the state. Today, we are Western Australia's second-largest education provider, supporting more than 84,500 students through a network of schools and nearly 14,000 staff.
We're seeking an experienced educator as School Support Consultant to join our School Support team within the Teaching and Learning Directorate based at our Bunbury office.
The School Support Consultant builds the capability of Catholic school leaders across the Bunbury Diocese, supporting high-quality learning, teaching and continuous school improvement. Working closely with principals, leadership teams, School Improvement Advisors and CEWA consultants, the role provides an exciting opportunity to shape pedagogical practice, strengthen professional learning and make a meaningful impact across school communities.
This is a 1.0FTE ongoing position commencing January 2027.

About the Role
Success in this role means building trusted partnerships with school leaders and strengthening their capability to lead high-quality learning, teaching and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will use data, current research and effective professional learning to positively influence pedagogical practice, support early career teachers and embed Quality Catholic Learning and Teaching practices across schools in the Bunbury Diocese.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support schools to engage with the Vision for Learning and Quality Catholic Learning and Teaching Pedagogies.
- Work with School Improvement Advisors/Regional Officers to be proactive to the schools’ needs and support principals and their leadership teams.
- Work alongside principals and school leadership teams to develop their pedagogical capacity.
- Work cohesively with the Team Leader, School Support Coordinator and members of the School Support Team in the implementation of innovative pedagogically centered professional learning for school leaders and teachers that is impactful on teacher practice and is fully integrated into the improvement journey of the school.
- Work with relevant CEWA consultants to ensure a coordinated approach to learning and teaching.
About You
The ideal candidate is an experienced primary school leader and exemplary educator with a strong understanding of contemporary pedagogy, academic data and school improvement. They will be a confident facilitator and communicator who builds trusted relationships, works collaboratively with school leadership teams and takes a proactive approach to strengthening learning and teaching across Catholic schools.
Essential requirements:
- Recent primary leadership experience with evidence of exemplary classroom teaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to Quality Catholic Education, CEWAs Vision for Learning and relevant teaching and learning frameworks, position statements and guidelines.
- Demonstrated commitment to taking personal responsibility for professional learning, growth and development.
- Excellent understanding of academic data and how to apply this to improve teaching and learning.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of current issues and research in pedagogical practice.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of current issues and research in school improvement processes and pedagogical practice.
- Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of your duties
Highly regarded:
- Knowledge of current initiatives, curriculum documents and programs used in Catholic Schools in Western Australia.
- Knowledge of the school improvement process of Catholic schools in Western Australia.
