The Role

The role of Service Desk Officer belongs to the Digital Technology team in the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital Technology directorate. We have 5 office campuses across the state and this role will be based at our West Leederville office. This role is a full-time, fixed term position commencing ASAP and ending on 30 January 2026.

This role will be responsible for but no limited to:

 

  • Timely and Professional Support: Handle phone and email inquiries, troubleshoot and resolve problems, log faults, and direct complex queries to relevant team members in a timely and professional manner.
  • Service Improvement: Assist in researching, evaluating, and recommending improvements to service delivery.
  • Team Support and Digital Strategy: Actively contribute to the team and broader digital strategy through proactive and personalised IT service.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and service computer-related products, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, network devices, and software.
  • Asset Register Maintenance: Update and maintain the CEWA asset register, which may involve hardware relocations and asset auditing.
  • Training Resource Development: Create and develop training resources to support improved technology use by office and school-based staff.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other duties as required.

Selection Criteria

A. ESSENTIAL:

 

  • Prepared to support to the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to adapt and perform at a high level in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Two or more years of experience in IT support with Windows and Apple technologies, including software, hardware, networks, and ticketing systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Efficient troubleshooting, initiative-taking, and issue tracking skills.
  • Confident and friendly telephone manner.

 

B. HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

 

  • Studying towards a formal qualification in Information Technology.
  • School based experience.
