We're seeking a Service Desk Officer to join our Digital Technology team within the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital Technology Directorate.

 

This is an opportunity to provide responsive, high-quality IT support that helps CEWA staff, schools and partner organisations stay connected and productive. As the first line of engagement for Digital Technology, you will play an important role in resolving issues, supporting technology use and contributing to continuous improvement across CEWA's digital services.

About the Role

 

Working within the Digital Technology team, you will provide practical and timely support to CEWA staff, schools and partner companies. You will help troubleshoot technology issues, support users with hardware and software needs, maintain accurate service records, and contribute to a positive and effective service desk experience.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide timely and professional support for phone and email IT enquiries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technology issues, escalating complex matters where required.
  • Support the installation, maintenance and servicing of devices, software and related technology.
  • Maintain accurate service desk records, asset information and knowledge resources.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and improved technology use across CEWA.
  • Develop user-friendly training resources to support office and school-based staff.

 

About You

 

You are a customer-focused IT support professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting people and working in a fast-paced technology environment. You communicate clearly, take initiative, and bring a calm and organised approach to troubleshooting and service delivery.

 

Essential requirements:

 

  • Two or more years of experience in IT support across Windows and Apple technologies, including software, hardware, networks and ticketing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Strong troubleshooting, issue tracking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of your duties.

 

Highly regarded:

 

  • Studying towards a formal qualification in Information Technology.
  • Experience working in a school-based environment.
