Position details:

Year 2 Classroom Teacher (Full-Time, Fixed Term)

St Mary’s Primary School is seeking an experienced and passionate teacher for a Year 2 classroom position. This is a full-time fixed-term role until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of ongoing employment in 2027. The successful applicant will join a collaborative, dedicated and enthusiastic staff who work in partnership with families and the wider community to provide a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.

St Mary’s is a double-stream, co-educational Catholic primary school catering for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. Located in the heart of Kalgoorlie, our school offers a welcoming and inclusive community that supports high-quality teaching and learning. The school provides a range of specialist programs, including Art, Science, Music, Digital Technologies, AUSLAN and Physical Education. Selection Criteria: 

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and innovative educators who:

•Demonstrate a collaborative, team-oriented approach and a willingness to contribute to a positive staff culture

•Are committed to ongoing professional growth, aligned with CSIP and AITSL Standards

•Have the ability to collaborate with partner and support teachers to plan, organise and deliver effective teaching and differentiated learning programs, including IEPs and EAL/D plans

•Demonstrate knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and SCSA Judging Standards

•Apply best practice pedagogy, including explicit teaching and the integration of STEM learning

•Use assessment, data tracking and intervention planning to inform teaching

•Demonstrate excellent classroom management, including whole-school behaviour approaches and Berry Street strategies that create a safe and supportive learning environment

•Experience in the following programs is desirable (training provided): MJR, PLD, Talk for Writing, Learning Through Doing, and Social Emotional Learning (Kimochis).

Qualifications Required:

Current registration with the TRBWA & WWC.

•Relevant 4 year Tertiary Qualifications

•Accreditation to Teach RE, or progress towards
