Strategic Advisor – Strategy and Governance

The Role
The role of Strategic Advisor – Strategy and Governance belongs to the Strategy and Governance team within the Office of the Executive Director. We have 5 office campuses across the state and this role will be based at our Leederville office.
This is a full-time ongoing position commencing as 1 January 2026.
The Strategic Advisor enacts CEWA’s strategic governance environment by providing high-level advice, analysis, and coordination of initiatives that empower and enhance compliance deliverables in Catholic schools. The role contributes to the development of strategic frameworks, policy alignment, and governance practices in support of quality Catholic education and system-wide improvement.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Prepared to support to the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk and compliance in Catholic education organisations.
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- High-level written communication skills, including experience drafting policy documents, executive papers and project outputs.
- Demonstrated commitment to Quality Catholic Education and the Strategic Initiatives 2030.
- Demonstrated capacity to work with discretion and judgment on sensitive and high-level matters, maintaining confidentiality, integrity and alignment with Catholic values and good governance principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder projects that deliver strategic outcomes, including managing competing priorities and driving collaboration.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including school and system leaders, to influence outcomes and support strategic alignment through complexity.
Highly Desirable:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in education.
