About the Role

Catholic Education Western Australia is seeking qualified primary and secondary teachers for the 2027 school year across regional Western Australia, including Bunbury, Geraldton and the Goldfields-Esperance-Merredin-Southern Cross (GEMS) regions.

Through Teach Regional WA, teachers can be considered for a range of opportunities based on their experience, teaching area, location preferences and school needs. We are looking for dedicated teachers who are interested in relocating to regional communities and making a meaningful contribution to regional Catholic education.

Regional schools offer strong collegial support, close community connections and opportunities to build rewarding careers both inside and outside the classroom.

Please note that CEWA is currently assessing candidates who are based in Australia or New Zealand and who hold the required work rights for the duration of the 2027 school year.

Locations

Teaching opportunities may be available across:

• Bunbury (South West): Regional centres and surrounding country towns with strong services and community connection.
• Geraldton (Mid West): Regional and regional-plus communities offering relational, community-focused teaching.
• Goldfields-Esperance-Merredin-Southern Cross (GEMS): Inland centres and smaller communities where schools play a central role in local life.

Teaching Opportunities

Opportunities are available across primary and secondary settings for the 2027 school year, including:

• Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary teachers.
• Secondary teachers in specialist curriculum areas, particularly English, Mathematics, Science and Languages, with opportunities also available across Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), Technologies and other high-demand learning areas.

Primary teachers should be willing and able to support the delivery of Religious Education and the Catholic ethos of the school.

Appointments may include ongoing, fixed-term, relief or short-term roles, depending on school needs.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary)
• Hold, or be eligible for registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA)
• Be based in Australia or New Zealand 
• Have school-based teaching experience or supervised university practicum experience

To be successful, you will:

• Be currently based in Australia or New Zealand
• Hold full Australian work rights for the duration of the 2027 school year

Experience solely in early learning centres, childcare settings or other non-school environments does not meet eligibility requirements.

Salary and Benefits

$91,449 - $136,563 per annum plus 12% superannuation, in accordance with Catholic Education Western Australia salary agreements and based on qualifications and experience.

Some positions may include additional benefits such as regional allowances, subsidised housing, relocation assistance or other location-specific incentives. Availability varies by school and location.
