The Role
The Year 2 Classroom Teacher will:
- Plan, implement and assess engaging learning programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and SCSA Judging Standards
- Use assessment and data tracking to inform differentiation, intervention and extension
- Work collaboratively with partner teachers, education assistants and specialist staff to support a range of learning needs, including IEPs and EAL/D plans
- Create a safe, inclusive and well‑managed learning environment, using whole‑school behaviour approaches and Berry Street trauma‑informed practices
- Actively participate in team planning, professional learning communities and school improvement initiatives
- Build positive, respectful and authentic relationships with students, families and colleagues
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will:
- Demonstrate a deep commitment to student wellbeing and positive relationships
- Work collaboratively and contribute positively to a professional, inclusive staff culture
- Show strong knowledge of effective pedagogy, including explicit teaching and the integration of STEM learning
- Use data and assessment to drive improved student outcomes
- Demonstrate effective classroom management and high expectations for behaviour and learning
- Commit to ongoing professional learning aligned with CSIP and the AITSL Standards
- Experience or interest in the following programs is desirable (training provided):
MJR, PLD, Talk for Writing, Learning Through Doing, and Social Emotional Learning (Kimochis)
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must hold:
- Current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA)
- A valid Working with Children Check
- Relevant four‑year tertiary teaching qualifications
- Accreditation to Teach Religious Education, or a willingness to complete accreditation
- Legal entitlement to work in Australia
